CaptainU is designed to work in concert with college guidance counselors. We believe that for all students, including athletes, finding the right academic and social environment are the most important aspects of identifying the right college. College guidance counselors play a critical role in helping students find schools that fit these criteria.

To support counselors, CaptainU provides a list of resources that help student-athletes further focus their sights based on athletics. Then, once a strong list of colleges has been identified, CaptainU walks athletes step-by-step through the recruiting process -- which is a protracted and complicated dance in which traditional college counselors are often inexperienced or ill-equipped.

CaptainU does this in two ways:

• Automated Online Guidance, which creates a "recruiting calendar" for athletes and sends them specific weekly or monthly instructions on what they need to do.
• One-on-One Counseling with CaptainU's recruiting experts, all of whom are former college coaches.
